ADMISSIONS GUIDELINES

Guidelines For Admission

(1) Preference is given to active members of St. Helen Church.
(2) To families with current students at St. Helen School.
(3) To Catholic families from other parishes.
(4) To any family wishing a Catholic school education for their student.

  • For admission to Pre-K students must be 4 by December 1.
  • For admission to Kindergarten it is recommended that students be 5 years old by September 1, and required to be 5 years old by December 1. (Principal must approve students not turning 5 by September 1, based on placement exam and interview with parents or guardians).
  • For admission to 1st grade it is recommended that students be 6 years old by September 1, and required to be 6 years old by December 1. (Principal must approve students not turning 6 by September 1, based on placement exam and interview with parents or guardians)
  • All students grades K-8 take a short placement exam to determine proper placement for the success of the student.
  • St. Helen School reserves the right to deny entrance if it is determined at the time of the entrance exam that St. Helen School does not have the resources or educational program to meet the needs of the student.
  • All students must comply with current California Immunization and health requirements prior to enrollment.
  • Students accepted to St. Helen School must produce record of immunization, most recent report card (grades 1-8), baptismal certificate and all required fees to complete the registration.
